It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2017 Annual Scientific Congress of the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists and the College of Anaesthesiologists (ASC of the MSA/CoA), which is to be held from 27th to 30th April 2017 at the Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Johor Bahru, Johor. It is an honour for us to once again host this much awaited Annual Scientific Congress within our anaesthesiology fraternity.

The Scientific Committee has chosen "Re-Emergence" as the theme to reflect on old or previous practices that have been less adopted but have now come back into trend. The scientific programme will consist of pre-congress workshops, plenaries and concurrent symposia. Distinguished and renowned speakers from local and overseas will share their knowledge and expertise on a wide variety of topics.

As for the venue, Berjaya Waterfront Hotel (formerly known as The ZON Regency Hotel by the Sea) will give you a nice view of the Selat Tebrau and Johor Bahru city. The hotel and its integrated duty-free zone is home to an array of shopping, dining and entertainment options.

For the ever popular Gala Dinner, we have chosen the theme "Simply Traditional" because we are certain that everyone of us will definitely have our own favourite traditional costumes and would make the night more colourful.

We look forward to meeting you at the congress.

Dr Raha Mohd Daud
Organising Chairperson
